In November 2013, I participated in the Career Thought Leaders Brainstorming Day discussing current and future trends in the hiring market. While I was meeting with some of my colleagues in Philadelphia, other career professionals were attending 14 other events across the US, Canada, Russia, Australia, Italy, and the UK, as well as online.
The CTL has just released its white paper that includes details on our findings and predictions related to the present state and future of job searching. Some of the topics include career marketing communications, job search, career planning and management, and the global employment landscape. It's so interesting to see what career professionals are saying about the increasingly diverse workplace, personal branding, handling applicant tracking systems, and other hot topics.
There's also a (much shorter!) US News and World Report article on 10 Emerging Job Search Trends, Tips and Tactics that offers a nice little snapshot of some of what was discussed.
I'm a certified career coach based in Philadelphia. I started my own practice to help people land their dream jobs and achieve their individual definitions of success.
I also keep this blog with my musings on changes in the employment landscape, advice for job seekers, links to other career-related articles, and anything else that catches my interest.
